We Need More Journalists Like Ken Silverstein
Certain to Provoke OutrageMuch of the book is based on reporting Silverstein did for Counterpunch. Given Silverstein's talents, one wonders why he is working for a small-circulation newsletter. Surely our major newspapers have need for investigative journalists of his talents. But then one remembers that the big papers are themselves corporate owned, and unlikely to want to shed too much light on the misdeeds of large corporations or the excesses of unrestrained monopoly capitalism.
The one flaw I can find with the book is the absence of any detailed notes on Silverstein's sources.

DC for Dummies is a smart book!Price covers a lot of ground in a book that's not a long slog: he hits the high points like the new Spy Museum, compiles lists of attractons for people who love museums, architecture, the outdoors, and gives the pros and cons of visiting our nation's capital in each season.
DC is a momumental city, and it can be daunting to fit it into a short visit, but you CAN make the most of your time there with Price's expert guidance.

No longer a "DUMMIE"

A must before planning!!!!
Washington DC With or Without KidsWhile it is geared toward traveling with children/students, the information is enlightening to adults also. I was amazed at the information I did not know, and all the wonderful trivia contained between its covers. Places I knew about but wasn't that anxious to see are now on my list of places to visit, along with those I learned of while reading this book.
This is a guide that needs to be used in planning a trip, not just explaining what you are seeing while there. It will help to determine how to spend your time in the nation's capitol and to get the maximum amount of enjoyment and information for ALL age groups.
I must also add that the authors' style of writing and their practical advice, along with a delightful sense of humor made this an extremely easy and enjoyable read.
Enjoy Washington

Made my vacation! My only disappointment is the newly built bridge near Elowah Falls that ruins the natural beauty of the falls... (not the author's fault).
Very good
Never be lost again! :)The book gives great detail and levels of the waterfalls quality, difficultly of the hike and much more. It even teaches you on how to determine the type of waterfall that you are viewing.
Mr. Plumb is the ultimate Mountaineer, and shows it through this amazing book. I call it my, "Waterfall Bible".
I highly recommend it for all your searches for waterfalls, and even some that you didn't know existed -- great for picinics, extremists, photographers, and for those just in awe of their beauty!
Don't pass this up, and at such a great price!
